Thanks.
My pump is 2011 model also, do you think it's safe to say it's the same bearing? How many bearings is in one pump one or two?
Sorry to OP, didn't mean to hijack your thread.

I would say you should be all set. There are 2 bearings in each dry side, if you do a google search for MP10 bearing replacment, you'll get a few great tutorials on how to do it.

Same flow (maybe more) and they are $85 to $95 each. (depending where you shop)

I have an MP40 and it's a great product, but when the fan costs as much as a whole powerhead that can do the same thing, I will just go with the cheaper powerhead.

Unless the magnet is damaged you can fix the wetside for cheap.

If your wetside fails let me know and i'll gladly paypal $90 for your broken pump.

Good luck with that. I own just about every pump except the awesome looking Gyre and each have their problems. If you have bearing noise in a dry side that was new to you and did not fall in water then odds are it's an alignment issue and you need to go over the instructions for spacing and alignment again. I have two MP40's and one was whining bad but was fixed with a spacer adjustment and slight realignment on the glass.

It's the nature of having the motor on the outside, the alignment is up to you and miss-alignment will create stress and tend to cause early failure.

Based on previous posts in this thread, it seems like the OP dropped the VorTech into an aquarium and now it isn't working properly and is experiencing issues with EcoSmart Live and connection to the ReefLink.

It sounds like you might have gotten your pump working again? Either way, I'd encourage you to contact us using the information in my signature and we'd be happy to help you get everything up and running. You've obviously invested a lot of money into our products and the last thing we want you to experience is frustration and grief, regardless of who is at fault.

We look forward to hearing from you!

It isn't often a company will chase you down when there is a problem. I would call, they take good care of their customers.
