Two climates, one tank (Tropic and Subtropic)???
so basically, would this be possible, if a tank were deep enough?
i was thinking something along the lines of buying chillers and heaters rated lower than the tank they would be servicing and installing the returns, one on bottom and one on the top or maybe no chiller at all, since it isn't hot where i live. i know is sounds crazy, just wondering if this could be possible? |

It's possible, if you throw enough $$$ at it, you may have to resort to a "divided" tank to do it on a small scale.
What species are you wanting to keep together that would require this? For the costs of doing such a thing I would assume you would spend way less starting two different systems..... |

well i like the look of kelp forests but then i like reefs too, so i was tossing around the idea of a drop off type thing where it'd be cooler at the bottom for the kelp, them warmer up top for the corals and such
