Algae On Rocks?
My tank had been severely neglected for 2 years as I was going through a divorce among other things. No water changes, no dosing, old T5 bulbs and no skimming. Just top off and sporadic feeding.
I've been slowly getting it back in shape and it's doing a lot better. I just have a question about this stuff in my tank. I'm going to assume it's algae as I do notice some air bubbles in spots of it. If I scrape it with my turkey baster then it falls off the rock very easily. http://vid39.photobucket.com/albums/...psginkfx5h.mp4 What exactly is it and what can I do about it? I am hoping to add some new members of my CUC as I only have about 6 snails/hermits combined in my 55.

I was able to take a better video this evening. There is some on certain sps, some on the rocks and some on the glass sides. It comes off very easily when touched.

Your link says that Chrysophytes are hard to remove from the rock. I just squirted a turkey baster over some of my stuff and it came right off the rocks and coral it was on. Anybody have any clue what I'm dealing with?

I hate to say it but from your description and video it sort of looks like dinoflagellates. But It's extremely difficult to tell from a blue video. A snap shot without blue lights would be helpful. I hope i'm wrong.
