T5 TEK 8 bulb fixture HELP!
Hi i'm having an issue with my tek fixture. The front two light bulbs will fire for a second than very quickly turn off within a couple of seconds. This started happening yesterday. All other 6 bulbs are working and firing just fine. I switched the bulbs around and the same thing happens! The fixture has two ballast, each controls 4 bulbs.. The bulbs are 6-8 months old. If the ballast was bad than wouldn't all 4 bulbs not turn on?? Driving me nuts, the fixture is hooked up to my RKL. Crappy part is sunlight supply is no longer in the marine industry.

You may have corrosion on the wires where they hook to the end-caps as well as where the bulb rests. You can take them apart and use emery cloth to clean up the contacts and wiring. That is what I had to do with a unit that I bought used unfortunately it only fixed it for about a month as mine are to pitted and corroded to get good contact.

The SS Horticulture unit is alive and well and doubled the industrial space ,so getting some of the parts should not be a problem. Gets some end caps and wires.
