Can I use this overflow?

Hey guys. Quick question. I have a fluval accent. It is 25 gallons. I just got a free eshopps Nani overflow box and it is rated for a 10 to 20 gallon tank. 200 gph. Can I use it? Will there be any problems?

Look how much your return is pushing out. If it's over 200 you might want to limit your return or tap another drain hole

Hmm. I have never had a sumo or overflow before, so I might not understand. You mean the return pump, that I haven't bought yer, to make sure it is 200 gph also?

Basically you don't want more than 200 gph of water from your sump to the tank. Your overflow rated for 200 gph can't handle it

What silent circle is saying is make sure your return pump runs at 200gph or less so you don't flood the tank. Example say you get a return pump that will pump 300gph and the overflow is rated for 200gph, the pump will put out more water than the over flow can handle resulting in a flood. You can still get a pump that is rated for 300gph or more for that matter you'll just want to install a ball valve to slow the flow down making it pump 200gph or less.

Ok great. Thanks. So I will look into a return pump 200 or less. And I can still use that nano box...

As long as you go with the one that is rated for 200gph you should be fine. You also have to account for the lift hight and the bends in the pipe but again u can always go a little higher on ph and put a ball value
