Stole this today!!!

Paid $30 for this oceanic 30G cube!

I'm thinking coast to coast overflow with a 10g sump. Mostly for ATO heater and some sort of fuge. I would like to do a rock spire up the middle so fish can swim freely all around without having to double back quite so often.

I know it's missing the top trim but I like the rimless look.

The stank is just an old end table that was in the attic. It's not its final stand. Just making sure I like the location and I honistly want it lower like that for sitting on the couch and checking things out!

Damn, that's a bargain! You should have some fun with that! Ae you going to connect this to your existing system so you can expand your volume or run it as a separate system? I run a 60 gallon cube as a display fuge connected to my main system. I liken it to a 60 gallon reef with a 600 gallon sump.

If it was designed to have trim on the top edge, you should at least consider euro-bracing it. I would be a bit concerned with a seam failing.

Otherwise, Great Find!!!

As soon as I install the big tank and move the filtration to the basement I am going to put one of these in the Foyer and have some kind of species tank.

I plan on claiming it's the display and the other 1500gals is simply filtration. I'm hoping for a bunch of "I don't believe you" looks.

Nice find

As my wife would always ask, "How much is that $30 tank going to cost us?".

The rim is a non issue. The rims on these tanks are pretty flimsy and don't do much. It's 1/4" glass so it has plenty of bonding surface.

I'm going to run it solo. We just moved and I'm not setting the 75 up here. It's at a friends place until I get all livestock moved into the 30 and my 29 frag tank.

I'm already up to about $400 on the $30 tank... Lol!! That's a secret though

I, too, had a Oceanic 60 cube - in use from June 1992 until August 2013. I would be much more comfortable with the trim on it. I have a feeling it does much more for the tank than you think it does. You might post the question in the DIY section. Perhaps the 1/4" non tempered glass is enough. I really don't know for sure but would suggest erring on the side of caution.

I'm not one for going on a sellers word. he pulled the trim off years ago when it got broken in a move. So it's had water with no rim for a few years as a cichlid tank.

It's going to be kinda slow moving... I'm in the middle of another build now.
