Skimmerless for a Few Months?

I am in the process of upgrading my 75g sumpless tank to a 90g with a sump. I've been using a hang-on Reef Octopus skimmer, and the new system will have a Lifereef skimmer in the sump. My question is this... My skimmer won't be here until March. Should I put the Reef Octopus on the new tank for the next few months or would it be ok to just go skimmerless until then? There will be no fish in the tank, just corals, crabs and snails. So I won't be feeding much, other than some cyclopeeze for the corals. It would be nice to just sell the Reef Octopus now. What do you guys think?

Should be fine either way. Ive been skimmerless for years with tangs and sps with no issues. Just find the right balance.

It depends how hard your hurting for cash. If selling it means you will get the 90gal skimmer faster, then sell it. If not, then I would just run it on the 90gal.

With that said, it should be fine without it...I personally would just feel better with _some_ skimming.

Not hurting for cash so much as I'm just not wanting to see that big hang-on skimmer clinging to the tank anymore!

Easy decision. Go skimmerless. There is almost no bio-load on the tank. If you are concerned about water quality, do an extra water change or two. I've been skimmerless for 6 months on a 105g tank with fish and sps. I only run a small ATS and my sps look better than ever.
