Alternate Circulation Pumps w/APEX?
Is there a benefit/downside to programming alternating circulation pump operation with Apex just to mix things up as far as different currents at different times of the day/night?
I have the following in my 75g: Tunze 6045 Tunze 6015 My return is 750gph Should things be calmer during the "night cycle"? How would you program them if you were me?

Variable, alternating currents are great for corals & most fish are fine with them.
Tunze makes a wave maker for their pumps so I *ASSUME* you won't have a problem with the APEX. But some pumps are not designed for constant on/off cycles. For that reason I'd check with the manufacturers or ask about it on the company forums here on RC for a definitive answer, as I'm speculating. Vulcans don't like that. Kirk out. |

Any benefit/problem with having one turn off at night?

I wouldn't turn one off at night, then you might get too much current going on the one way. You could set them up to run at a lower speed setting during the night though.
