Came across some AWESOME live-rock. Help ID Please????
Hey fellow reefers! I came across some crazy good live rock and it is teaming with life! I bought 15 pounds of this stuff and my LFS was about to frag out some of these pieces because they are so nice:> Anyway, I need some help getting an ID on a few of these hitchhikers! Any help will be nice:> Thanks again guys!
1. (Some type of star) 2. (really bulky anemone) 3. (Really pretty red Sponge of some sort) 4. (I have no clue... looks like it has new little red disk on some newer growth parts) 5. (Sorry for image quality, maybe a small mushroom?) 6.(Really cute little things just don't know what they are!) 7. (Weird transparent things that look like eggs) 8. (Maybe a ball anemone? biggest one I have seen also the blue sponges are really pretty!) Thanks guys! More pics later of my build and setup:> I hope this was the right place to post this... Anyway, Thanks again for helping! Last edited by tyveck; 01/13/2015 at 09:57 PM. Reason: forgot to add some info |

Some of those things look like tunicates. Delicate, harmless little critters.

I'd guess some of the red things are macro algae. The clear anemones look like the little ball 'nems commonly found in the shade. If they are, they're harmless. If you're worried that they may be pest anemones, just watch their growth. I'm sure they could hurt corals if they make contact, but they may not be problematic if they stay small and isolated. Just keep an eye on them and kill them off if they become an issue.
