Fluval Edge 12 Gallon lighting
I'm looking at upgrading the lighting on my 12 gallon fluval edge.. Does anybody have ideas on what to upgrade to for a reasonable price? Also, I'm hoping to keep the lighting all contained in the black box cover of the aquarium.
Thanks |

Rapid led is your best bet then you can diy a decent fixture pretty cheap if you are willing to spend 200 I would go with th ai prime it has built in WiFi controlling and its full spectrum. And it would fit right inside the hood of the edge

I'm considering this 50 watt led light.. the lights would shine over the opening nicely

I run a ai nano on mine. Gonna upgrade to the prime when it releases though. Only problem I would say with the fluval is that the top half of the tank towards the corners don't get much light.

expensive light to be running if it doesn't even light up the entire tank..

True but had one laying around. You'll find its hard getting a good spread with the edge while still maintaining the stock look. Light will be mounted very close to the water and the top trim piece will keep most light from spilling to the side top corners. Besides I don't grow anything in the top corners anyway. I couldn't get a nice layout with the tank cuz it was too tall and not very wide.

Yeah its near impossible to get the right spread. I am buying someones diy light and am planning to mount it on the top.. I will let you know how it goes. I would love to see the set up with the ai though?
also it is near impossible to get live rock that high on the corners and get anything to grow. I'm thinking of using magnets and mounting some coral up there though if i can get some light spread up there |
