Large Growth On Candy Cane Coral
I purchased this Candy Cane about 3 months ago, and it has been growing this large extrusion for about 1.5 months. I thought it was a new head but it doesn't appear to be anymore, can someone ID it? Thanks!
Also, does that look like green hair algae? There is a bunch of little balls of algae around the tank...Thanks!

Looks like a type of sponge to me. Whats really funny though is that I have one growing on mine, and its in the same location on a frag that is just about the same size as well.
Go figure.

I was thinking that due to its shape it might be a Pineapple sponge, but the location is just plain awful. I wish my coral grew as fast as that growth did.
