if it works and you want it, why not LOL
I personally only like buying NEW electronics and I keep receipts, cause ya never know. it would suck to buy it, and have it burn out after a month. you don't know what the electronic has been through. possible water damage, shorted circuit internal that is a "ticking time bomb". use your best judgement.

Well I went ahead and got it anyways. I love it! But I liked my metal hilide better on my tank. Oh well. It's still cool. Anyone else have kessils? I have a middle rock column and it's hard to position it where I don't have dark spots.

I have always liked the metal halide look but had heat issues on my current tank and had to stop. Now I'm running low watt (less than 1watt) LED's. I want to upgrade to a 75 or 90 gallon some time this year and have been reading up on LED's but still uncertain how to go.

You probably think the metal halides were brighter right?
The problem w ppl who go from MH to LED is the reduced "brightness" its really not the case, what is happening is you are getting less spill light from the spot light LED Youtube "lighting & flow from mike paletta - reefkeeping"

Thats why i have a t5 fixture to accompany my LED. Led are too contrasty by themselves and cause shadows unless you have 4 led units over the whole tank
