I would go for the 8 tube...you basically have a square tank and for me thats the only unit I'd use. Im using one on a 30 x 20 x 18.

On a 6'L x 34"W x 27" high SPS dominated tank, would you all recommend the 60" 8 bulb fixture, or two 36" 8 bulb fixtures? I'd like the option to dim, but I'm concerned about having to replace 16 bulbs per year.

I have a 72x36x22 tank and I have the 60" 8 Bulb unit. It's plenty of light even around the edges of the aquarium.

I didn't take your advice and went ahead and ordered a 36" 4 tube unit (tank is 36x20x20). My tank is about 16 months old, I feed well and I do not see pests so I decided to take the plunge.

I believe I am going with 2 blue + and 2 coral + unless people tell me otherwise.

Coming from the Hydras, how would you set up the light program for my lps/sps mixed reef? Really appreciate your help

The thing is, I know they work...I've seen the results myself in my buddys large tank...In fact if I were to recommend 100% LED; AI Hydra 52 and Radion Pro's are what I would recommend.

Generally, the larger a coral is, the faster it grows. Frags can sometimes sit still for MONTHS not really doing much; photos taken every two week will show that actually, some growth is taking place.

As for the browning out; how old is your tank?

My buddies with Radions and Hydras typically channels as follows: Royal Blue and Blue at 100%, UV around 80%, whites around 40-45% during peak and Red and Green around 60% during peak. OVERALL intensity is around 65%

How is your parameters? Have you checked for pests? Are you feeding the tank well enough?

Keep the 1:1 Coral+:Blue+ combo. Run Royal Blue@100%, Blue@approx 50% and White@40-45%. Red maybe@10% if you want, but not needed IMO.

Do the T5s need to be broken in before they can be dimmed?

How many T5s can be controlled at one time? Are they controlled in pairs of 4 T5s or 2 T5s?

Run full for 50 hours then you can dim.

My four bulb is controlled in banks of two. Two front and two back. Not sure about the 8 bulbs.

On the 8 tube, there are two channels for the T5's each channel controls 4 tubes. On most units this is channel1= 1, 2, 7 and 8 and channel2= 3, 4, 5 and 6.

I however modded the channel selection to 1, 3, 6 and 8 for channel1 and for channel2 is 2, 4, 5 and 7.

Look aside, how does the ATI LED PM compare to ATI SP+Reefbrite XHO?

I am thinking of going t5/led but not sure which option is better for a SPS dominated tank.

+2. Also will like to know if their is a huge difference in order to invest in a new equipment because the ATI/Led hybrid 60" will be expensive to ship to PR.

Thanks...

Aside from the looks and control...the cluster obviously has different channels. The LED's are also with ATI's custom reflectors. And quite importantly, right in the middle of the fixture...

However, for anyone in the USA, a SP with 2xReefbrites either side is a pretty awesome combo.

If cost isnt a factor, go for the LED PM. If it is, go for the SP with 2xReefbrites...1 x Reefbrite is ok though.

So I have been using this light for a year and a half on a basic program have yet to get into a custom layout for my combo. Mainly I ramp up the bulbs and only use the blues similar to a reefbrite morning and evening as well as throughout the day. I would like to add a little shimmer in the middle of the day by using some of the white leds is there a way to control the whites separate from the blues?

I would like to have the whites say start ramping up at 2 run a few hours ramping back down til they are off around 6 but don't know how to do so without also ramping the blues down I would prefer the blues run all day and ramp down at the end of the cycle. Any help? Thanks!

I have led powermodule and my frag tank has sunpower with reefbrites. If money is not a problem led powermodule is best.

If you want to save money so you can buy more corals. Sunpower with two reefbrites cant be beat. I wonder if I can install four reefbrites on sunpower. Like two on each side. That would be awesome.

I will PM you my email. Send me your current light profile and I will add the white LED at 40% to run from 2-6. I run the white around 5 hours currently I think.

Thanks Sahin / Ssdawood... are you talking about the Actinic Tech or the XHO model. In my case shipping is a pain overehere to PR so i prefer to try to get the ReefBrite.
