Worth getting a controller?

I have a 90 gal DT with a large basement sump. I know the controllers program basically everything, but my question is, since the lights and Mp 40 are upstairs, is getting a controller worth it due to the fact that my equipment is split up? The basement sump isn't directly under either, so no way to snake light and flow cords through the floor.

are they radion and vortech lights? I wonder how far the wireless signal could go if they are?

they make aquabus cables up to 100 feet. you could have an outlet in the basement and upstairs.

if you can snake an aquabus cable (like a USB) to the main apex unit you can have power at both levels and if you want to control your vortech you can add the module upstairs off the power bar. I love my apex and couldn't imagine not having one.

I'd post this question on the neptune forum. someone on there probably has a similar setup and can let you know of issues they may have had.

Totally up to you. They can be anywhere from expensive timers to really helping with automation.

There are lots of nice tanks with and without them.

Personally, I use Rancos to control my temp and cheap light timers for the lights. Nothing else. However, I don't use dosing pumps, care about PH or the many other things that people use them for.

Yesterday my controller sent me a text telling me my ATO container was empty.
Can't beat that!
