Bulbs for a 4ft maristar T5/MH light fixture.

Just got back into reef keeping and set up a 75 gallon aquarium that I plan to run as a sps reef.I have a 4ft maristar T5/MH combo fixture with a galaxy 250 duel ballast. I'm thinking of running two 250 watt 20k XM bulbs I'm not sure on what T5's I should go with or what my light cycle should be also how far should the bulbs be from the water the aquarium is bare bottom and I don't have much live rock just a few pieces to mount corals on so all the coral will be very close to the bottom.I would like the aquarium as blue as possible my goal is color not so much growth any advice would be very appreciated.
