Avast MR5 reactor?
I am running my Avast reactor with GFO. I keep having issues with the foam getting clogged and moving up the reactor body under water pressure. Should the foam pad be installed below the acrylic disc? I have it laying on top of the disc and then the media laying on top of that. Any info or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I had to turn the water pressure down on mine. Really never figured out another solution for it.

This is going to sound stupid, but are you using a 200 gph pump? Avast does suggest 200 gph on that reactor from what i read:

I used to have this issue with the sponge supplied. I bought a sponge block, and cut a new sponge that was a little bigger than the reactor width so it was really snug down there. No issues anymore.
