Red Cyano or Red Coralline?
Hi,
I'm fairly new to this hobby and just started a year ago with a 4ft by 2ft tank. I think i didn't cycle the tank properly during the initial setup and had problem with cyano/diatoms. So I've been running the tank in low light, I mean as in more than 10k spectrum. I have been battling with brown slime algae for quite sometime now and i notice that the brown slime algae almost gone and now come red algae (looks fluffly to me). Just wondering is it Red Coralline because it doesn't look slimy at all? Here is another part of the tank. There is black color patches on the live rock and also i think there is some coralline as well. Those black color patches seems to be bubbling sometime. Is it bad? (I've drawn a red box to indicate the area, sorry that the box is not so clear) |

Does it come off easily with a brush? If it does most likely cyano if it is on hard - coralline.
