It's official!!

So I finally have a reef tank! I got my first ricordea mushroom Saturday and so far so good. I'd like to get a small frogspawn next week and was wondering if I will need to dose calcium with a frogspawn if my tank is going to be mostly soft corals. I do weekly water changes. Is this enough to replenish the calcium needed for a small frogspawn?

Just one small frogspawn? Chances are you will not need to dose calcium with that water volume and weekly water changes with a good salt mix. That could change as the frogspawn grows (they can grow fast & get huge) and you add more stony corals or clams. Personally, I would test for the major elements every once in a while'

Reef frog is right. Make sure you have a test kit and that will answer your question

I wouldn't worry about calcium. If anything your alkalinity will drop faster. i measure them once a month now. but at earlier stages, i would measure weekly.
