Can not restart siphon on a been animal style overflow...
If I turn off the power to the pump the siphon will not restart. Any ideas?

How far under water is your siphon line when the system is running properly? It should be just an inch or so, at least that is what the issue was with mine when I first set it up. I had the same problem and adjusting the height of the siphon line to an inch below the surface worked for me.

My first recommendation matches Dave's: Make sure the siphon line isn't too far under in the sump.
Second, since you have an external overflow box it would be possible to lower the siphon standpipe until the siphon starts quickly. In my setup, the siphon standpipe is about 1" shorter than the Durso which results in a nice quick start of the siphon.

Make sure the durso and siphon are the same depth in your sump. I had mine longer and it would not start siphoning.
