I just received my 1st. Clam today from Pacific East Coast Aquaculture...after a ton of research. IMHO.....the best and only place to buy. Packaging, shipping, and customer service is by far better than anyone else.

I have ordered from Divers den before, though they don't currently have anything that is in the "must have" category for me, but I am very picky on clams. You might find something there. They too have very good packaging and live arrival policy, not to mention a 14 day guarantee which very few other online venders offer. I have had items that arrived alive but looked stressed out, it dies on the 15th day, beyond the 14 day policy and they still honored it since I did call in and expressed my concern on the item's arrival condition.

Actually its called Pacific East Aquaculture. Dr. Mac has worked with both the farmers/collectors and the government to become an exporter of aquacultured clams from French Polynesia. I've seen them whenever I go into his retail store and am always impressed with the colors and patterns they display.

My mistake on the Official name. I may also add that on both orders...I have ordered SPS frags. Upon using a weak solution of Revive.....I had next to zero hitchhikers. Next time I am in Maryland...I am definitely going to take a visit.

Also....I got en email from them after my first order.....and that if I ordered at least 100 worth of livestock within a months time....they would throw in a free frag. I called them and asked if they could make it an SPS....and they obliged.

My LFS just ordered a ton of ultra maxima clams in the 1.5" range and they're selling for $50 or 2 for $90. They should be readily available for your LFS to order.

That may be a better choice - ya know, so you can see what you get and you can help support a local business.. not to mention the cost and stress of shipping.

I have had good luck with Pacific East Aquaculture. I have also had good luck with my LFS after, and this is important, after they were there a couple of weeks to check out. The LFS gets bad shipments and several of the clams die right after they get them, but look great for the 1st few days. They don't have a refund once you buy, so I watch the clams for at least a week.

I have bought clams from divers den... A sweet ORA clam. I didn't QT it because I didn't think you needed that if they didn't have snails. It had some disease that killed every other clam I had. So now I stay away from ORA clams from divers den.
