Outstanding.

I use photbucket. I have no idea about how to post pics here.

Got all my gear to grind the tank lip. I'm going to drain a waterchanges worth of tank water out to help with catching debris. Making water tonight and grinding tomorrow.

Nice! That looks great. I love the aquascape. My biggest regret and my next big project is getting my rocks off the back glass. It's a hassle to clean, and there are some dead spots back there I need to address. I love the way you achieved that, and still used to height of the tank.

Thanks!! I love it as well only 5 aqua scapes later haha!! Unfortunately my rocks are on the back glass. I figured I would left coralline grow where I could scrub lol so I guess I'll see how it goes. My Ammonia is up to .04 so here we go!

Just read through this thread, and there seems to be quite a few nice looking builds shown here. I really like the dimensions on that tank btw, I never thought to go with one. You normally hear 55g tank and run away due to horrible dimensions. Ill be checking in.

I love the tank. For the gallonage the volume is incredible.

Well, it's on the tank! Grinding is probably not something I would suggest. There were a lot of flying bits, and it got way too close to the glass. What looked like a quick shave job ended up being almost the whole lip. In hindsight, a shim would have been much cleaner.

But it's on! It needs to break in for a few weeks, so I have mico bubbles all over the place, but it's already kicking ***.

My next install:

Hey guys I'm starting my 2nd week of my cycle and my levels are ammonia 2ppm nitrites .3.

I used 2 shrimp and ghost feed every couple days. Tonight I took the shrimp out but I squeezed 2 halves to leave some in there and I plan on ghost feeding every couple days still till I get my levels zeroed. My question is- was it ok to take the shrimp out or should I go back to the store and grab another one to keep feed the bacteria?

That I am not sure of. I have never cycled a tank. I have had this same live rock for 10 years, and when I got it, I went with 100% live rock. That was the thing then. Now it's better to go with dry rock and cycle.

I cycled with liquid ammonia, but I think you are right to get rid of the shrimp. (Still getting my first tank running so take that for what it's worth.)

New toys rock, don't they?!? What skimmer is that and what are you going to run in the reactor? I have been thinking about a hang on bio pellet setup.

The skimmer is the Aquamaxx HOB-1. So far I love it. I bought the reactor to run GFO. I have a pretty bad Green Hair Algae problem. I am thinking of running carbon in it for a week first though, and then GFO for three months, at least.

I have restarted my tank. Thread here:

I thought about making my own thread for this tank, so there's that too.
