Help
Hi it's another very high ammonia my tank as plenty live rock skimmer 2 fish water is cycled but I av a fairly new external filter that's been running for about a week it took about 50 drops from test bottle 2 api to turn blue pleeeease help

how long has your tank been up and running? what size? what did you do to cycle it?

+1 on OP being confused. Kh on API is supposed to turn yellow. Calcium turns deep purple.
OP-Please re-read the instructions on API tests and be sure your using the right bottles in correct sequence. Ammonia should be (I believe its either 8 or 10) x amount of drops bottle 1, cap and shake, x amount of drops of bottle 2, cap and shake and wait 5 mins. Just read directions carefully. |

For the API Ammonia is 8 drops bottle 1. 8 drops bottle 2.
Water will turn green if ammonia is present. Not blue.

Agree with the posts about the test. On that note, if you do have high ammonia, your tank is not cycled. We definitely need more information.
