Why is the bashing of UV sterilization?
I came across many threads where people ask about the benefits of UV sterilization. The most common response is "it is just water clarifier"
Is there any scientific proof that UV is useless in this hobby? I know there are plenty of literature that states at the right dose, UV can eliminate bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and viruses. The keyword is "THE RIGHT DOSE". Even Ach can be eliminated at 280MJ/CM2. The technology is been around for long time, and it is being used in many applications for many years. I don't understand all the bashing! Last edited by BlackTip; 03/27/2015 at 08:29 AM. |

I forgot to plug mine back after doing some maintenance. I noticed that the algae film formed much faster, almost immediately by the next day, having to use the magnet cleaner. Plugged it back in, and now back to using the magnet about every 3 days. This is how I know it works for what I want it for. This scenario has played out on a couple of occasions.
