New tank, not sure whats going on
My boyfriend has a 36 gallon tank that currently contains two clowns, 6 hermits, and a diamond back goby as well as a frogspawn. It has been doing well with the exception of a dead starfish. It has been up and running for about a month now an we have had bacteria in it before and was told it was part of the nitrogen cycle. however in the pictures i have included he is not sure what is going on. We are new to the hobby and are aware that we are pretty uneducated but are trying our best to learn and to create a healthy thriving environment. Any tips, advice, or information is greatly appreciated.
**It is hard to see but there is green growing on the base rock. And the other bacteria (?) is brownish with a tinge of purple on the sand and as it moves to the rock it is more purple / he says red. |

The link will be of some use to you guys. It is basically a book with multiple topics. It is hard for to tell from the pics, but look up cyano bacteria and see if that fits. good luck

Tank is way too young to even be concerned in my opinion. It's going to go through its cycles. You're going to see algae and all sorts of stuff changing. Sit back and relax. As long as your levels stay in tact. Don't worry. Snails are your friends. Fish can be beneficial too. Welcome to the hobby! It's going to be a bumpy ride in the beginning but the enjoyment is worth it! I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck!
