Missing clownfish

I had a clownfish in my 20g tank with two damsels. They've been 8n there together for about a month now. This morning when I woke up the clownfish is gone. He usually greets me in the morning and now I can't find him. I looked all through the live rock and he didn't jump out. Do you think the damsels would have eaten him if he did died? He seemed healthy so I don't know what happened.

I do have a HOB but there a cap on the end the has tiny slits in it. There's no way he could have fit in there and I've checked around the tank and nothing... This is weird and sucks at the same time.

Ah, a 'missing fish' thread. Based on all the others it's, in order of likelihood:

1. Fish died and has been/is being consumed behind your rocks
2. It's jumped and is on the floor somewhere (or in my case, a cat snack)
3. It's hiding and may re-emerge
4. It was attacked and eaten by some tank bogey man (like a mantis shrimp, or large brittle star)

Try feeding, maybe it will come out for food.

In a twenty gallon tank with two damsels, I would say #2 is most likely followed closely by #3

I have had 3 clowns jump out of my tank
One survived and became a terror to my tank killing manu fish. I guess coming to the brink of death turned him into an a-hole

If they can build the pyramids, they can hide a clownfish.

Jumpers are the reason I keep covers on both of my tanks. A few times I heard my male platinum smack the glass jumping. Don't need to worry about him anymore since my carpet nem snatched him up yesterday.

My friends clownfish has jumped twice so far, although not out of the tank. He has an internal filter box for housing carbon, phosphate remover, etc. The first time it jump and landed on top of it and was flapping about until he pushed it back into the water, and the second time it actually jumped inside the filter box through a small hole, he found it staring back at him through the grill!

So I would think it'd be quite likely yours could have jumped.

Well, I found him. I came back from town and he was lying on the bottom with fin missing. I looked everywhere for him this morning and couldn't find him. At least now I know.

About 1-2 weeks ago I moved my other 2 clowns into my 20g tank. Did he get lonely and die from a broken heart?
