Anemome behavior

Hi everyone,

I recently (about a week ago) bought a condy anemone and it has been doing great in my nano (5 gallon fluval spec v). Recently I fed it one of those freeze dried orange shrimps that omega sells and it seems to be acting what I consider a bit strange however it may be normal to some of you more experienced aquarists. I fed it yesterday and it seemed to take the shrimp in with ease and I watched it put it into its mouth. The next day however it has shrunk and taken in all of its tentacles and turned into a ball shape. My tank has been running for a shorter amount of time (a little over 2 months) than suggested and I know this is advised against however I bought it due to my impatience. Just curious as to what is going on and if I should bring it back to the LFS and wait for my tank to mature and further stabilize.

Thanks,
The New Intern

My sand anemone does that when I feed him too much or something weird. He will look shriveled up and turn a pale color for a few days until he basically barfs/poops the food ball up. I have had it happen a few times over the years. It has always recovered fine.

Ok good to know thank you. The anemone is actually looking a lot better now starting to move and puff back out.
