How big do these get ?

It's funny, every thing I read about getting clams & their care suggested to me that they are slow growers & can be difficult at times. I agree they can be worrisome at times but slow growers ? Idon't think so. This fella has grown this whole new row in just 6 weeks. Now I understand why my calcium usage has gone up considerably Am wondering if anyone knows how big this type of clam actually gets. ?

I thought 16 inches was the largest size ever recorded of a wild specimen? Gigas clams are the real giants.
