I have one on my regal 150.
It's very quiet, and I like how I can increase/decrease the speed at will.

When i feed the fishies, I hit the pause button. 60 minutes later it comes back on by itself. Also, when i was breaking the skimmer in, via a vinegar bath in the sink, the water slowly drained out and I didn't notice. There must be some sort of sensor, because the pump shut itself off. When I added water back into the sink, the pump kicked back on by itself.

I also have the regal 150 sss. I have been very pleased with it. Probably the quietest skimmer I've seen. Pulls gunk great and only running it a little over half speed.
