zero polyp extension on Montipora
I've got many different types of Montipora and all are doing very well except this one.
I've had this coral for a little over 3 weeks. When I first got it the polyps were extending nicely, but about a week later it retracted and hasn't shown any extension since. There does not seem to be any tissue problems. I have this coral on a frag rack placed at the bottom of the tank with decent flow. I also have acros and other corals and all look good with good growth. No real issues with the tank. tank: 40B setup for about 19 months. SG 1.026 Alk: 8.2 salifert Ca: 410 red sea pro Mg: 1350 red sea pro Phospate: 0 Hanna HI 713 Lighting: 2 165W LED lights run about 30-40% blue channel and 25% white channel. I'm tempted to move it up higher in the tank, but I've bleached other montis higher in the tank, so I'm playing it safe. I haven't tried total shade yet either. Any suggestions? |

Different flow and or lighting for it. Trial and error.

Thanks.
Anyone with specific experience with this coral and what you found that works? Most of my current montis prefer low to mid-level with decent flow. However, this one is very unhappy with that same prescription. |
