Just caught a Mantis Shrimp, need help

Hello,

i just caught a little green Mantis Shrimp from my big Aquarium.
I wanted to make 3 Small fresh Water Tanks for Shrimps, but now i take one of them and make it a small Reef Tank for him, its about 25 litres, 40 x 40 x 25 cm. I want to Add him there, but i have zero experience with Mantis Shrimp, is this big enough? I will add 2-3 small Live Rocks, i got a Tunze universal pump mini from a Friend. Lights are no problem either.

i added a screenshot, forgive me its from my mobile phone and quality is crap, but the shrimp is maybe like 3-4 cm big and green colored, i can try later to make a better picture with the camera of my parents.

This size tank should be fine its max size will reach about 3 inches. Be sure to make a cave with the live rocks. Also watch your fingers.

Just in case you wanted to know that species is Neogonodactylus wennerae. Google for more info.

I think that's a fine place for a mantis shrimp that size. N. Wennerae's are usually pretty interesting. Throw some live feeder shrimp or a small crab in there every now and then for some entertainment. I've owned several mantis shrimp in the past and they are fantastic pets, way under-rated by most in this hobby IMO. My next mantis will arrive in the mail on 5 May. Enjoy your new pet!

I don't think they are underrated, it's just that you can only keep one and pretty much nothing else on shrimp and fish in the tank.
If I had a small tank over I would love to have one but...

he made the move unharmed and seems quiet happy.
about feeding: i tried feeding him some smelt i had frozen, otherwise if i give him a bit of the frozen artemia im feeding on my big tank anyway, he will do fine right?
i mean i dont want to go with tweezers and see he actually eats, he will search for food and not just starve?

You can feed them frozen food (just thaw it out in some water from the tank, you can also add some Selcon for more nutrition). Or, you can throw small snails and hermit crabs in the tank and he will forage for them on his own. Just make sure you replenish them every now and then.
