Mixing fairies

Hi,

I added an 8th fish to my 75 gallon. I've got two ocellaris clowns, one exquisite fairy wrasse, one royal gramma, one blue reef chromis, One Bangaii Cardinal, and a yellow spot goby. I've had a peaceful tank. The clowns sometimes gang-up on the chromis.

I added a red velvet fairy wrasse, adult male, believing that generally (I know there are exceptions) fairy wrasses are peaceful and should get along. My exquisite is a male adult. He's as gentle as they come and gets along with everyone. He's actually my favorite fish. The velvet was okay for a few hours, but then the exquisite noticed him and started going after him. the velvet actually jumped into my in-tank refugium and has stayed there(I have a glass hood so they cannot escape). He ventured out once but the exquisite immediately chased him back. The refugium is small and full of chaeto--though the velvet is getting along in there okay. I guess you could call it an acclimation box of sorts. Should I give this a few days and see if it plays out, or should I take the velvet back?

Acclimation box would be the right direction.

An acclimation box sometimes works wonders. I use them when introducing a new wrasse. I would leave the guy in your refugium for a bit, as long as everyone can see each other. Good luck just my 2 cents worth.
