DSB and pearly jawfish- any jawfish experts?
hi im looking to do up a 35g with 2 pearly jawfish and a 4"-6" DSB. This I plan on having this tank long term and im wondering if hydrogen sulfide will be a problem down the road. The last thing i want is 5-10 years from now, have an awesome tank then have it crash because the DSB got stirred up and h2s was released.
lets try not to make this a BB vs DSB debate or a DSB good or bad. Im kinda looking for if in this particular situation is a DSB for aesthetic reasons a good idea, or is it too much risk I doing the dsb do that the jawfish can have a natural "vertical" tunnel, and am not so concerned about the denitrifying bacteria. What are the best methods of preventing hydrogen sulfide buildup and old tank syndrome? Will the jaw fish only stir up one area or will the continuously be stirring up the entire bed? Do they eat micro fauna from the sandbed as they dig their tunnels? Will stirring up the sand bed every couple months be beneficial? has anyone ever kept jawfish and a dsb long term? what was the key to your success? thanks

The jawfish will help prevent sandbed problems. I never stir a sandbed but I do keep nassarius and other burrowing creatures.
