Noobie with a few Questions

I bought a used 125 gallon tank. I put in about 30lbs. of live rock and another 60 lbs of dead rock. Set my tank up for a week and left it alone. I did buy a good test kit and started testing 6 days ago.

My ammonia went up to 2PPM and then starting dropping around day 4. My nitrite is starting to rise and is at 1.5, and now my Nitrate has gone from 0 to 10. Is this good? I am unsure of myself a little and any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like you're going through the cycle. On track. No worries. Be patient.

I agree it does sound like your on track. FWIW I would not bother checking nitrate until your ammonia and nitrite are gone. Good luck

The link is very useful. It is basically a book with multiple topics. It is found at the top of this forum.
