Update - April 24th 2015
Well it has been a little while....
So what's new? My tank has cycled and I have completed a 50% water change. Plus the addition of the skimmer and carbon and GFO reactor. Everything has been looking good so far, but I am in the early stages of a diatom bloom. I was able to get the first phase of the clean up crew, which did a great job on cleaning the early stages of hair algae. It seemed that the hair algae was growing only on the live rock. Clean Up Crew Acclimation Unfortunately April has been a very busy month for me and I am holding of getting the first fish. Would like things to calm down a bit before setting up a quarantine and monitoring new fish. |

Update - May 15th 2015
It's been awhile since my last post to my build.
Last week I was able to pick up a pair of Bangaii Cardinalfish and have settled into their quarantine. Their healthy and eating. Bangaii Cardinal's Quarantine On my way home from work last night I stopped by a LFS that I wanted to check out. I found a great deal on a Green Star Polyp, so I got my first coral for my tank. Green Star Polyp So far I have been very patient with this hobby and have not experienced any major setbacks. I would recommend to any new hobbyist to take your time and read as much as you can. If your not sure about something, research it and read as much as you can before making a decision. |
