Question about plumbing for those who run Herbie Method

Should the emergency drain pipe be cemented into the bulkhead inside the tank?

I would think it would have to be or it would constantly leak. Just wanting to make sure. TIA

Mine is not cemented and doesn't leak. I wanted mine where I could pull it out to drain the overflow real quick if needed.

+1, I do not glue mine either. If you push it in tight it will not leak.

The bulkhead is creating the seal. You should be able to pull the drain pipe out of it and not have a leak.

Think he meant that water leaks into the emergency drain pipe's bulkhead into the drain. Constantly

This, but it seems like others aren't cementing and are not having any trouble. i just assumed it would leak into the sump

Since there is no pressure on the Emergency drain pipe and doesn't really get wet unless the water level gets too high, it seems to me this pipe under the tank doesn't need to be cemented at all either if it is a very tight twist to remove.
