Issues with Boost LED Par30 Lamp
Is there anyone on this forum that has used this bulb for more than a year? I purchased my first one in October of 2013, the bulb Failed within a year and I had it replaced, which was a nightmare. I just about lost all of my corals due to the process of the return and not having a backup light. Once I received the replacement That bulb lasted just under 2 months, Failed right after Christmas, so now it is January 9th, and I have made several attempts to contact the company, leaving messages and emails, reaching out on their facebook. I am at a loss for words because I just do not know what to do anymore. I am out over $100 for a light and goose-neck that worked not even a year, and the company has a 1 year warranty. I am just wondering if there are other people that have experienced this from Boost LED or if anyone has any advice for me. Thanks

Sorry never heard of them. I am sure they are a buy and resell internet only company working w/ Chinese products. My best advise is to go with a known company such as Orange County (OC) or Ecoxotic. And maybe step up to a PAR 38 dimmable.
I am sure you have this but here is Boost LED contact info info@boostled.com or call us toll-free at 1-888-60-GO LED (or 1-888-604-6533) Hours: Monday-Friday, 9AM-6PM (PST)

I've never heard of them either. But my guess is you have a smaller tank since you're using these types of bulbs. I've been looking into getting something like these for a frag in sump. I came across these and think when the time comes will give them a shot. They might help you also. They seem to have good reviews as well.

I have a Boost led par 30 since 2012, on 8hrs a day for most of the time. Still working but it seems light output/par lessened quite a bit. I just use it to quarantine fish now. Back in the day it could grow sps.

Yes I was using it on a smaller nano reef. Unfortunately I will be building a 75g reef. Yeah its awesome but really wish I could get some response from them. I was growing some SPS and they were responding very good to the lights. My light was only on 6 hours per day. I am pretty sure it is their product, it's just a smaller company. I would either like another light that I could use on a frag system or a refund but as of right now I have 2 products from the company that have failed within a year and no response from anyone from the company. Beyond frustrated at this point. Thanks for your responses.

I am going to see if a few more people see this. I figured that more people would have used this company based on the feedback I saw before I purchased. Was definitely a mistake.

I bought one in 2011 actually after another par30 failed and didn't want to wait for them to ship me a replacement. It's been running for about 9-10hrs a day everyday since without issues. To be fair the other company replaced the par 30 with a par38 which I have been using on another tank since then and that bulb has not failed either.
Here's my 2 gallon pico which the boost led has lit for almost 4 years. Great bulbs for small areas as far as the company goes, I ordered the one shipped it and haven't tried to contact them again since. |

Wow that is an awesome tank. Well then you have gotten your use out of the bulb. Don't every try and contact customer service. You will be disappointed. Thanks for the reply.

Alright so tomorrow will be the end of the 3rd week of me trying to contact this company. I wonder if I am being ignored. I sent an email this afternoon. Still nothing, I am not sure what I am to do at this point. Just give up, or file a complaint and leave a thread about my experience on every reeding forum? Just a horrible experience.

So now the only thing I can really do is blast them on every reefing forum and see what happens. 3 weeks with zero contact from customer support that's awful. Any tips/ideas?

At this point I have given up on this company. Maybe they closed down?? That's the only logical solution to why they are not getting back to me. Little over 4 weeks since my light went out. I have borrowed one from my lfs in the meantime while I setup my 75. Anyone have any input?

Update:
So I am going to send them one more email. If I do not receive a response within 72 hours I will be getting my lawyer involved, even though it is only $100 or so. Its the point that the company doesn't even care that I am unsatisfied. Anyone have any input?
