VorTech MP10 for 3g Picotope?

Would it be an overkill to put a MP10 on my 3g picotope? I have a rio 50 in there right now and an AC50 for flow. I would like to have something that doesn't have a constant flow. Are there any other alternatives?

Check out ReefBreeders led they sell the Jebao WP10 sub 70 bucks.
