Once it establishes itself, which it will do as soon as it hits the water, it will try to kill anything else you put in with it. This fish gets over a foot long and could very well be the meanest fish alive.
This is one in a 1000gal fish only that I used to maintain. Tank is still IME too small for it. This is how every new addition was treated, there is a reason it is cheap. I do not think you have the tank for this fish but thanks for asking because you have saved yourself (an the fish) a lot of stress by doing so. Wait for your tank to stabilize and go for that long nose butterfly instead, much better addition.

Good call. I may get one for my 1300gal but still I dunno. The barbs on that fish are as ridiculous as it's attitude.

I would skip adding tangs. iirc you have a 190 gal tank? You already have a powder blue which is the same genus as a sohal and can be just as aggressive as they age. They tend to be a little more laid back but where I would compare the sohal to a grizzly bear after snatching two of her cubs a powder blue is comparable to a grizzly bear after snatching one of her cubs. If you are in this for the long haul those fish you already chose, if doing well together, is best left alone. Disrupting the dominance chain is a dangerous battle and the end result could be loss of them all. A purple, a powder b, and a sailfin are a beautiful collection, especially if they get along. I would leave it be. You already picked the most aggressive zebrasoma and an acanthurus .
Seems you are determined to add more fish. May I suggest a colorful dwarf angel or the longnose butterfly for other horizontally challenged fish. Maybe take on the challenge of adding some lyrtail anthias and seeing if you can balance the food load. I don't really consider a 1 year old tank to be very mature, keep in mind phosphate problems will start to show up around now as calcium carbonate binds it masking any problems. Adding to the bioload complicates the process as nutrient levels increase due to increased food. Thus export needs to increase to keep the tank balanced. Keep in mind tangs are scale less fish and are susceptible to infections and parasites. Having too many in a tank makes it all so much more difficult. This is of course just my opinion, you see many tanks with lots of tangs but most of the time the fish are small, rarely do you see tanks loaded with aggressive fish make it to maturity. That is to me what makes you a success. When you have a bunch of adult fish and large corals swimming around that seem to have no blemishes. Fat and healthy.

There is a member here who has kept over a dozen Sohals.
Said only a handful were terrors, the rest were laid back. I think a lot has to do with tank size and stocking. Also our Yellow Belly Blue Tang is probably more aggressive than most Sohals. Even beats up new Anthias. Chased a bigger pair of Crosshatches around for days as well...
