Smile Would this fixture have enough lighting for a BTA and some other anemones?

This is my first saltwater tank and I would like some help choosing the right lighting. The tank is 25 gallons, 16 inches deep and 24 inches long. I would like to go with LED's but nothing above $200, as I've already put over $600 into the tank. (If there are better options other then LED's, please let me know). Would this fixture give off enough light for a BTA: http://www.amazon.ca/Aquatic-Aquariu..._cd_al_qh_dp_t

I would say no. If I were you I would look for a used maxspect fixture, kessil or an AI fixture.

you are not going to find much for 200. Take a look at the reefbreeders value fixture. It will provide more than enough light and falls within your budget.

The light you had linked is a freshwater fixture, designed for growing plants.

You could grow SPS with these 2 In a 20. Just make sure to acclimate any coral you have in already to the light by slowly upping the % on the lights over a few weeks.

not true at all about the finding a light for 200. Current USA Orbit LED's are great and cheap compared to other lights. ive kept multiple BTA's that are doing awesome in this tank with this lighting. this RBTA has been with me over a year now with these lights that were under 200. i got the RBTA when he was the size of a half dollar

and i also have this GBTA who is still recovering from arriving bleached from shipment. he has started gaining color back alot lately and growing larger.

You can look up the par map on currents site and decide. There is a reason your nem has climbed to the top of the rocks, they can take much more light than that.

I am not saying the current fixture is bad but it is very underpowered and will limit placement of coral/nem's down the line. In a 20 gallon you will run out room sooner rather than later. With the reefbreeder superlux, value or even the mars aqua linked above ( use one and save the other for when it breaks) you will not be light limited.
If you are looking for a strip light you should look at Buildmyled.com it will come out to more than you want to spend but is a high quality product that is more efficient than any thing prebuilt I can think of.

first off the anemone did not climb to that rock to get to more light its stayed put exactly where i wanted him infact in the year ive had him the nem only moved once at the 8 month mark and quickly moved back. it has higher places it ccould go if that is what it truely wants. also the green bubble tip stays near the bottom of the tank not the top.
