Timing between repeated Revive dips?
Hello everyone,
I currently have a (very) large tank with rust brown flatworms, Convolutriloba retrogemma. I am waiting for a few six-line wrasse to finish going through quarantine to help keep the flatworm population in check. My question is: How often can I dip the same colonies with Revive by Two Little Fishies? I've read elsewhere every 5 days. I'm doing 3 minute dips with good success so far. The most affected colonies are LPS - Elegance coral most heavily. The SPS are not bothered. Water parameters, for those interested. temp: 79F/26C pH: 8.15 Salinity: 35ppt Ammonia: 0ppm Nitrite: 0.006ppm Nitrate: 0.6ppm Alkalinity: 180-200ppm (3.6-4.0 dKH) Calcium: 450ppm Magnesium: 1400ppm |

Do you mean alk = 3.6-4.0 meq/L?
Getting to your question, I had a small spot of STN on my green slimer and I did iodine dip every 24 hrs for 8 days; the coral was fine although it showed less PE for some time. I haven't used Coral Revive myself but I don't know if the treatment will be as mild as with iodine or as harsh as with Coral RX but I think it shouldn't be a problem to dip every 24 hrs.

Thanks for catching that. 3-6-4.0 meq/L or 10.08-11.2 dKH.
From what I've read (and what I've seen), Revive is fairly mild on the coral. I'll have full expansion within 30 minutes of dipping the colony. Ill see if daily dips seem to stress it out. |

The elegance coral has been handling the repeated dips quite well. I also noticed a sharp decrease in the flatworm counts after moving it off the sandbed.
Our Mushroom coral and sinularia seem to be taking the longest to recover from the dips (almost a day) so they're going to be dipped less frequently. |
