CUC for 14 Gallon Biocube
I've had my tank set up for 2 and a half weeks now. I'm almost positive it has cycled because I had a minor algae boom starting 7 days ago but since then, water parameters have been ideal for the past 5 days (I'm going off of info from my LFS). I have a 14 gallon Biocube with 14 lbs live rock (bought cured), 20 lbs live sand, half Nutri Seawater and half from LFS. My thoughts are adding a CUC around 3 weeks just to make sure there's ample algae (assuming it continues to grow). Should I wait a little longer? And what inverts would you reccomend for the size of my tank, live rock, and sand? Majority of the algae is brown and detritus on the rock and sand with some starting to show on the walls. There's a small amount of hair algae on the sides of some rocks as well. Thanks in advance!

One Banded Trochus snail and one Scarlet hermit crab. Boom! Your set... JMO
As the tank gets older some of these nasties your seeing will work themselves out. There's really no need to rely on an army of invertebrates to clean the tank when your the best janitor out there. ![]() |

Having had a 12 gallon nano setup I wouldn't Reccomend a cuc, you simply don't have enough algae to support it. I had 2 turbos, 3 nassirus, 2 red legged hermits, 1 emerald crab, and 3 turban snails and was more then adequate for my 12 gallon.
