i eventually switched to a 30 gallon extra high glass fish tank because i was able to hide it inside a cleverly modified piece of furniture that sat next to the main tank. the plastic tote had the wrong dimensions to fit. now i use large brute trash cans in the basement, and pump it up through the floor. i had no issues that i could attribute to using those as a mixing vessel. i still keep them around for moving, extra mixing capacity if needed, or an otherwise temporary container for housing livestock in an emergency.
