Another pest fumigation question please
We need to have some pest control done on our house ASAP for ants. I was going to try and seal the tank with plastic wrap and route and air pump into it from outside as everyone else has done.
BUT when talking to the pest control people they said that they wont be gassing the inside of the house, inside will only be a fine liquid spray that they spray around doors, windows and on some surfaces. Outside they will be using the bulk of the chemicals. My question is this, since they are using the bulk of the chemicals outside is it safe to have an air pump outside pumping air into the plastic tent?? Doesn't sound safe to me They also said that they have done a couple of places with tanks before (they said marine but they may not know the difference between marine and fresh). They recommended to cover the tank with plastic wrap for 1-3 hours maximum with no air pump going into it. Is this safe? Would there be enough oxygen in there for just 3 hours (maybe 4 to be 100% safe)? Thanks in advance for all help. Cheers, Macca

Completely forgot to include tank info. Tank is 120x50x60, total water volume of tank and sump after rock etc is about 430L (approx 113gal) and lightly stocked with just 2 small clowns, 1 small damsel and one medium goby. Some SPS, LPS, softies and a clam.
I think the idea is to leave all pumps on and operating, just to seal the tank (stand and sump included) in a plastic bubble so it wouldn't be getting any fresh air. So whatever air is in the bubble is all the tank will have for the 3-4 hours with the power heads still on and possibly the sump still running.

I would think with that size of a tank and your light bioload, 3 to 4 hours should be fine. I've gone 4 hours with no power, and it didn't effect my little biocube any with a heavy bioload.
