Royal Gramma sick?
Hi guys, I have noticed a recent change in my royal grammas behavior and wanted to get some opinions.
I have a FOWLR that is 9 months old with a blue green chromis, two mollies (converted to saltwater), a royal gramma and hermit crabs/snails. For the past two days the royal gramma has hidden and has not eaten. I know royal grammas are prone to hiding but this one is usually completely out in the open when not sleeping, is very out going and has a great appetite. As far as bullying goes, there really isn't any but the gramma rules the roost. He has no spots of any kind, no fin damage, no fuzzy spots, eyes and mouth are clear, no missing scales, color is great, respiration rate is normal, he does not look bloated or skinny. I did notice a very thin sand colored string of poop (didn't look like a worm but not ruling out internal parasites) hanging from his anus. Water perimeters are as follows: Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrates 20 temp 78 and constant No changes have been made to the tank. The only thing I can think of that I did wrong is I forgot to turn on the light for one whole day. (I'm a nursing student and am gone from 7am to 9pm and forgot it in the morning. Sorry for such a long post. Any help is greatly appreciated! |

You didn't give your alk. S/b 8.3 or thereabouts. If he's suffering from acidic water, he might hide.
