Kessil 150 deep ocean blue
Anyone got pics of it over your tank? Picking one up today, very excited. Would love par values also if anyone has them. Trying to decide how high I need to have it over my cadlights 8g mini.

I don't have PAR for that, but I'm guessing the Kessil Amazon Sun over my fuge is about the same light, just different color temperature. PAR is 200 with the light maybe 6" above the water, measurement taken about 8" deep.

I've seen they're supposed to be equivilant to a 150w mh. Seems crazy to me but we will see!

Picked up the light. Turned out to be the H150 (horticulture version), despite that it works wonderfully. All my corals are happy as can be. Just added a rainbow bubble tip and he seems to like it too.

Kessil makes great lights but the line about being equivalent to a 150 watt metal halide is garbage. In what reflector? Using what ballast? Using what bulb? There is no "generic metal halide" average you can realistically use to compare any led fixture to one. Sorry. Just doesn't work like that. That's why most decent led brands no longer make that distinction. You can have a PAR difference of as much as 100% by simply choosing a different bulb but using an identical ballast and reflector. Let's not even get into the difference the reflectors themselves can make |

If you've got a lot of room light you may be able to keep things alive with the H150 but you should consider balancing it with another light source. Quote:

I've heard the H150 won't cut it for aquarium use. However my RBTA seems to disagree. All my corals are extremely happy in the tank. Only time will tell though.
