All reefbreeder users!
I have a standard 75 with my light about 9-9.5 inches off the water line. What should I be peeking at on each channel. Right now my blues are 80 and my whites are 50. Any suggestions?

A big question here is what are you keeping? Depending on what you keep the requirements will vary.

In my opinion 80:50 is plenty high for your stock list. Maybe even too high dependent upon your photo period and ramping schedule...

I have a 180 with mostly sps and 2 IT2080 fixtures (ReefBreeders Photon32) and I peak at 90B and 40W for just 4 hours a day with 5 hour long sunrise and sunsets as well.

The 50G with mostly sps with some nps has a 32". The 120G is mixed with a 48". Both ramp up and down over a 12 hour cycle. There is a three hour period of 100% on both channels from 12-3. Moon lights the rest of the time with a 2 hour blackout from 2-4. The 50 has been this way for 2 years and the 120 1 year. Alk-9 dKH, Ca 450, po4 .03, Nitrates are at 25 due to a recent problem but are coming down. Everyone thinks these settings are too high but they are working for me. 11 months of growth for example.

All reefbreeder users!
My lighting schedule is over a 12 hr period. I use the excel spreadsheet that it made by reefbreeders. So maybe I should drop the whites down to 40%? What does everyone think? I mean in all reality if your having success with 90b/40w on a 180g then mine is defiantly high for a 75g.

I have two manual dimming Reefbreeder type units at 14" over my mixed 75G. Blues are at 60% and whites are at 40%. Over the 10 months that I've had them, the coral growth has exploded. They replaced a 4x54W ATI Sunpower.

Our School has a 120gal tank 6' long and just received 3 Superlux from Reef Breeders. Not that familiar with LED lighting and need advice on how long to set up timers and what intensity do we set Ch1 and Ch2?
At the present time we have 1 chromis, 3 PJ cardinals, 2 Clowns, 1 Royal Gramma. We also have some palys, softies and mushrooms. The plan for the future is some SPS and maybe LPS. Suggestions? |
