Fish Food
So currently I have three fish (Royal Gramma, Purple Firefish, and Yellow Clown Goby). I have had some issues with feeding. When I first got the fish, I immediately tried pellet food (New Life Spectrum). Both the firefish and basslet showed interest, but couldnt keep them down. I believed that the fish were too small and went out to buy different food. I bought Omega One Micro Pellets, Frozen Brine, and Frozen Mysis. The firefish and the basslet went for the micro pellets but no luck with the goby (who, in general, are picky eaters).
Started feeding brine shrimp, and all fish were happy and eating plenty. But now, I have read that there isnt much nutritional value to brine, and that mysis would be better. But none of my fish will take it. The goby wont even look at it, and the other two spit it right out. My question is, whats the best way to get these fish into eating different things. My next attempt at a better quality food is going to be Rod's Frozen Food. Im just worried about getting my fishies everything that they need to have a happy, full belly. :P |

I've used all those foods and more. My fish are also on the small side. Rod's Food has a variety of sized food in it. Some chunks will almost certainly be too big. When that happens, my cleaner shrimp gets the big chunks and the others eat the rest.
My fish also struggle to eat normal NLS pellets. I got the small fish formula with 0.5 mm sized pellets. Those seem to work. However, the micro Ocean Nutrition pellets work as well. If the clown goby isn't interested then let it go hungry a day or two. This will often convince a fish to eat. The reason the fish spit out the mysis is probably also related to size. Typically if a fish is taking food in then it is enticing enough, but they can't get it down. You can try chopping the mysis smaller or buying a smaller size. I hear Hikari has some of the smaller mysis on the market. |

I understand that Mysis also is not very nutritional.
