Are all Mag-floats created equal

After many years of excellent service I have decided to retire my Mag-Float and replace it with a new one. The new one is far inferior from what I expected. The magnet isn't as strong and the pads don't clean as well. What happened to the quality of these cleaners?

Tunze Easy-Care. I've been here for a lot of innovations, and this one enables me to reach the bottom of a very tall tank and stir the sand edge without trapping scratchy sand particles. Best thing since sliced bread.

I have been using a "Hammer Head" brand algae magnet for the last year. I like it better than the previous "Mag Float" brand.

Interesting product. Does it only work with glass?

Magfloat with easyblade...been using it for years. I always disassemble, rinse with fresh water, and wipe dry after using it to prevent rust.
