Unhappy help with reef octopus NWB 250

Hello everyone! I think I made a mistake of buying reef octopus nwb 250 which is powered by dual otp 3000 pumps(65 Watt each ), now one of the pumps impeller just broke down, currently I am running my old backup skimmer from red sea, however when I tried contacting my LFS, he said that these pumps are no longer available in the market hence he can't arrange for the impeller, I live in India and these products come without any warranty and I just want to replace the pumps for a better performance.

my question is, if I can replace the OTP pumps with any of the upgraded models like Bubble blaster or Aquatrance, if yes? Which model will easily replace otp 3000 without having to do any alterations in existing plumbing in the skimmer? Again, my skimmer is powered by dual otp 3000 pumps.

Ive been using just one pump for years. Works fine.

For replacement I went aquatrance but will have to mod the inlet for my recirc.

The outlet you will need to cut the tubing and glue the union on the pipe.

The bubbleblaster may be in the same boat because even though it has the same screw on inlet the venture size will be different.

Either pump can be modded easily. There is no direct replacement option.

You can get otp pump replacememt parts online still. You can put pretty much any pumps on the skimmer body but all will require some modification to get them to fit correctly. Otp pumps are pretty crappy for the most part. My otp 1000 lasted about 1.5 years before the impeller housing started to swell up can cause the impeller not to spin. I woukd say aquatrance pu m ps as well.

I had 7 years I think out of one OPT 3000, and closer to 10 with my current still running one.

The one that quit had issues in the body somewhere, not the impeller or shaft.

And yes they were pretty crappy, at one point I was high 30's on air intake with both meshmodded, and they suck electricity.

My aquatrance will be here next week.
