T5 bulbs- help!!
I decided to start adding corals to what is currently a fish only tank- right now I have leds on it but T5s seem to be preferred for corals, and I have a six bulb unit lying around- but it needs new bulbs. It has timers for 4 and 2 of the bulbs.
I am looking for a white light with a hint of blue- but I don't want washed out colors. Any suggestions would be appreciated My current selection is: 1 ATI AQUABLUE SPECIAL 2 ATI Blue Plus 1 ATI True Actinic 1 ATI Coral Plus 1 ATI PURPLE PLUS Tank is a 90 gallon, not sure of coral choice yet- probably mixed. |

Ocellaris had a similar combo as I run now. 3 blue plus 2 coral plus and one purple plus. You'll most likely want to either go with 2 coral plus or 2 aquablue special in addition to 3 blue plus and a purple plus. The 2 AB bulbs will give your tank a 10k look vs the 14k from 2 coral plus. I prefer a bit more blue (definitely not windex blue though, hate that) so I run the coral plus bulbs but it sounds like you might like the 10k look from the AB's.

I prefer the Coral+ over the Aquablue Special. Better color to my eyes. Your combo of 3 B+, 2C+, and 1P+ sounds like what you want. I like it a bit bluer and would change out a C+ for a B+. Great combos. If you miss the actinic "pop", you could always add a reefbrite strip for some LED pop. The results are amazing.
